Product Silhouette was part of the Cri•ti•cal Thinking exhibition at Concourse Gallery, Emily Carr, 2017. A symposium for critical thought specifically in conceptual designed objects, this piece accompanied the show as a caricature and homage to the unseen designed systems of corporate signage and terms of service rhetoric. Sculpturally, Product Silhouette calls to business sandwich boards, strategic colour usage, and typical storefront usages of plastics, wood, and vinyl. Included on the back of the piece is a phone number, automated by a textbot I had set up previously. When sent an SMS, it responds with humorous TOS rhetoric, eventually guiding students/audience members to deliver menial personal information for some canned advice.
